Hoosier GameDay is an unofficial fan app for Indiana University football fans and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Indiana University.
Information we collect
- Profile information: first/last name, graduation year (or "Fan" tag), an optional profile photo, and an optional "where you live" city you provide during onboarding or in Settings. Stored in our Firebase project and shown alongside your activity in the app (Huddle comments, watch party hosting, RSVPs, hype reactions).
- Location: with your permission, your device's approximate location is used to show nearby watch parties and help you find one to attend.
- Content you post: comments, replies, and watch party listings you create are visible to other users of the app.
- Push notification token: with your permission, we store a device-specific push token (issued by Apple/Expo, not tied to your name or any other identity) so we can deliver the notifications described below.
We use Firebase Authentication with anonymous accounts — we never ask for or collect your name, email address, or phone number to create an account.
Third-party services
We use the following services to run the app. None of them receive your name, email, or any identifying information beyond what's described above:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Storage) — hosts all app data described in this policy.
- Google Places/Geocoding API — powers address and city autocomplete when searching for or hosting a watch party, and is not given any other profile information.
What we don't do
- We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties.
- We do not use your data for advertising or analytics tracking.
- We do not access your photo library or camera beyond the profile photo you explicitly choose to upload.
